OUR STORY
We maintain the legacy of one of Mountain View's top restaurant: La Bamba
Follow our journey from family recipes to foodtruck dreams!
Our story is one of transformation and resilience, beginning with La Bamba, a family-owned restaurant founded in 1988 in Mountain View. For over two decades, we were a cornerstone of the community. However, as times and economies shifted, we found ourselves facing the challenges of gentrification and changing landscapes. Even so, our spirit remained unbroken. When La Bamba’s historic doors closed in 2020, Leo, a son of the original founders, decided to carry on the family’s restaurant spirit but with his own twist. Paper Platez was born, capturing the flavors, memories, and community spirit that made La Bamba an enduring favorite. Leo envisioned a food truck with a diverse and rotating menu that includes Mexican, Salvadoran, upscale cuisine, and American favorite bar eats. The flexibility of Paper Platez allows us to offer a wide range for catering and events, becoming more than just a food truck—it’s a continuation of a legacy that still enriches the Mountain View community.
